Man its hard to get out of bed at 4:30 am knowing there is nothing but the bitter cold waiting for you. Actually I find its easier to stay warm when its really, really cold like 10 degrees. You can bundle up and be fine. It's when its in the 20's I find it more difficult to find the perfect layering/gloves/boots etc... If you dress too warm, your going to sweat and then when you get cold again, it's really miserable.
Figure your going to be cold one way or the other anyway its just going to be either at the beginning of the ride or at the end of it. I have just under 250 mi as of today, if I can get some 40+ milers in sometime it should not be too hard to hit.
Then will come February and it will be time to ramp up some intensity and start throwing in intervals and hills which are owe so much fun...
By the looks of the race results last weekend, we have some local cross fools still hitting it hard! Jump on over to KC Cyclocross and get the scoop on how the local boys and girls did at nationals.
On a warmer note... Looks like 2013 is already full of races in the works and these are just most of the local KS races.. Its going to be an interesting one switching my focus from MTB to Road...

ReplyDeleteThis is exciting. Hopefully Perry Roubaix happens this year. It's a fun road race with tough gravel sections. Circle that one.
See u on the road.
